ACADEMIC JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Applications are welcomed for faculty positions at Jeddah Community College starting in September 2009. Applicants should be well qualified, committed, experienced, flexible, enthusiastic and adaptable with suitable lecturing and/or industrial experience. Applicant should speak English fluently since all instruction at the college is in English language. Successful applicants will be offered positions at Assistant Professor or Lecturer level and will be expected to perform the following duties: Instructs various classroom and supervises laboratory settings in his subject matter; reviews and develops syllabi & course outline materials; develop and maintain course portfolio in his subject, evaluates knowledge of subject matter taught and monitors students' scholastic records; prepares and grades student's exams and projects; enhances professional development; maintains office hours to assist and advise students; participates in department and college committee work. The minimum qualification requirements for these faculty positions are set by each department, as follow:

A. Computer Information Technology (CIT) Department

Applicants should possess either a relevant Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with recent college teaching/ industrial experience in the following area:

Programming Languages

Microsoft Applications

Systems Software

Web Development and Internet Programming

Databases

Networking

Graphics & Design

M.I.S.

B. Business Information Technology (BIT) Department

Applicants should possess either a relevant Ph.D. or Master's degree in Business Information Technology with recent college teaching/ industrial experience in the following area:

Accounting and Finance

Business Administration

Retail Management

Insurance

Event Management

Entrepreneurship

Marketing

Sales

Hospitality Management

C. General Requirement Courses (GRC) Department

Applicants should possess either a relevant Ph.D. or Master's degree with recent college teaching/ industrial experience in the following area:

English (Teaching English as a Second Language plus TEFL or TESOL certificate)

Mathematics

Statistics

D. Health Information Technology (HIT) Department

Applicants should possess either a relevant Ph.D. or Master's degree with recent college teaching/ industrial experience in the following area:

Pharmacy

All Contracts: One–year renewable contract; competitive salaries depending on qualifications and experiences.

Benefits: Two full months paid summer leave each year, two short 15 days Eid vacations, annual roundtrip air tickets (max 3 dependents), medical treatment at KAAU hospital and facilities, annual salary increment, monthly local transportation allowance, annual accommodation allowance, single-time furniture allowance for new comers to SA, and an end of service gratuity.
